The mission of the 17th Street Neighborhood Association is simple: create new relationships and share resources within our community. We aim to strengthen our community through encouraging connections amongst neighbors. We do this through programs and partnerships ranging from tutoring to emergency assistance. Have a look around our website to get a feel for all our programs. Oh, and, drop us a line on the Message Board.

Whats New On the Street?

Neighborhood News

Our June Quarterly Meeting was held on June 2, 2011, at Christ United Church of Christ, 14th & A Streets in Belleville.  In attendance was a panel of local officials, representing both Belleville and Swansea.  A big "thank you" to these folks who took the time to come:  Melinda Hult (Belleville Ward 2), Dorothy Meyer (Belleville Ward 2), Phil Silsby (Belleville Ward 5), Brian Wells (Swansea Trustee), Rob Anderson (Belleville Ward 3), Jim Schneider (Belleville Parks & Rec).  Thanks also to Ben Anderson owner of Archway Locksmith, who gave us helpful information on securing our homes.  Click here to find out what we talked about.

Want a break on your grocery bills?

Check out Caring Hearts Food Co-op!

During these tough economic times, it is hard for families to make ends meet. That's where Caring Hearts comes in.  It is a cooperative food buying program, which means the more people who purchase food through Caring Hearts, the better the value we all get. The food is top quality fresh produce and meats for $20.  Pick up is from Christ United Church of Christ on 14th and A Streets in Belleville. For details click here. If you have questions or would like to order a box, call Teresa, 234-0665, cuccfoodcoop@aol.com.
